Toyota Running Footage

Category:

Film production + VISUAL EFFECTS

Productions are often met with hurdles, sometimes the product isn’t available, isn’t right, or the most challenging - doesn’t exist.

To solve this issue we went with a cg replacement approach. In collaboration with our film crew, our VFX supervisor captured animated HDR lighting probes on set to be used in post production.

This process allows for the flexibility of CG to be married with the tactile environments of the real world. Large amounts of footage could be captured in a single day, be edited, or sourced from stock footage. Then our VFX artists meticulously tracked and replaced the car using the CG data.

Less time focused on washing cars and running different car models, and more time is spent capturing the perfect camera move. In this situation it was the the perfect compromise.
